Detection & collision avoidance

A radar speed sign with camera is a portable way to control speed in the outdoor areas of a facility: the yard, internal roads and ramps, where cars, trucks and forklifts all move around.

The radar sign has a three-digit LED display with 32.5 cm digits. It adjusts its brightness automatically and can be read from a distance, even in strong sunlight. When a driver exceeds the limit, the display alternates their speed with the speed-limit sign and changes colour.

The camera records only the vehicles that exceed the limit: a series of images with the speed, the location and the time. Records reach your safety manager or gatehouse security over the site network or by email.

How the radar speed sign with camera works

  1. Measure

The radar measures the speed of the approaching vehicle.

  2. Display

The display shows drivers their speed. If they exceed the limit, it alternates between their speed and the speed-limit sign.

  3. Record

The camera stores a series of images of the vehicle with the speed, the location and the time.

  4. Notify

Records reach your safety manager or gatehouse security over the network or by email.

What you gain

  • Visible from a distance

A large LED display with automatic brightness control and a special mask for good visibility in strong sunlight.

  • Records violations only

The camera does not record continuously. It stores images only when a vehicle exceeds the limit.

  • Evidence for every violation

Each record includes the speed, the location, the time and images of the vehicle.

  • Portable

It runs on a 12 V battery and moves on its battery trolley to wherever you need it.

  • Settings by time and day

Up to 5 parameter sets by time of day and day of the week, with a timer and automatic daylight-saving changeover.

Frequently asked questions

Does it record video all the time?

No. The camera stores images only when a vehicle exceeds the speed limit. Each record contains the speed, the location, the time and images of the vehicle. Because images are involved, we recommend agreeing how they are used with your data protection officer.

Does it need a permanent power supply?

No. The system runs on a 12 V battery and moves on its battery trolley to the spot where you need it.

How do we receive the records?

Over the site network or by email to your safety manager or gatehouse security. Data can also be transferred via USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LAN or HSDPA.

Can we change the speed limit?

Yes. You can set the limit, the minimum and maximum speed displayed, the colour change and the blinking. You can also define up to 5 parameter sets by time of day and day of the week.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the combination of sign, camera and power supply you need. The site survey is free and the quote is detailed.
